The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) on Wednesday held a meeting with officials of domestic airline operators to address growing concerns about flight disruptions and passenger service issues.
The meeting, which took place in Abuja, was convened against the backdrop of rising customer complaints about delays, the conduct of some airline staff, and unresolved compensation or refund claims.
According to sources within the Authority, the engagement focused on regulatory issues, including unruly passenger behaviour, passenger handling protocols, unresolved refund or compensation cases, enforcement of phone switch-off instructions, protection for cabin crew, and improving the overall travel experience for passengers.
National Television reported that the meeting followed a series of recent confrontations between air passengers, crew members, and airline operators, which have raised public concern over service quality and safety protocols.
The NCAA acknowledged an increase in customer complaints and urged airline operators to comply strictly with existing regulations to enhance service delivery and restore passenger confidence in the country’s domestic aviation sector.
