• Raises reconciliation panel to foster unity among stakeholders
Following a clash between Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke and former spokesperson for the Senate, Ajibola Basiru, the Ataoja of Osogbo, Oba Jimoh Olanipekun, has vowed to be apolitical, embrace all political gladiators from different political parties and end rancour among stakeholders.
The monarch has raised a reconciliation panel to appease aggrieved indigenes and politicians of Osogbo town, to foster development in the capital of Osun State.
Eagle FM recalled that there was a clash between Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Basiru of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at Osogbo Eid praying ground over sitting arrangements, after one of the allies of Oba Olanipekun had a face-off with the latter on Eid-el-Kabir day.
There had been animosity against Oba Olanipekun for opposing the re-election of former Governor Adegboyega Oyetola, supporting Adeleke and also anointing Olubiyi Fadeyi of the PDP who is from Ila-Orangun against Senator Basiru from Osogbo for the seat of Osun Central Senatorial District.
Oba Olanipekun, after meeting with the elders, chiefs and religious leaders of Osogbo yesterday at his palace, resolved that a delegate would be raised to go and apologise to Governor Adeleke for the maturity he displayed at the Eid ground.
