Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a major initiative to offer free delivery of petrol and diesel to fuel marketers, dealers, and bulk users across Nigeria, beginning August 15, 2025.
In a statement yesterday, the Lagos-based refinery disclosed that it had acquired 4,000 brand-new Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)-powered tankers to facilitate the logistics plan. The initiative, the company said, is aimed at reducing distribution costs, enhancing energy efficiency, and boosting access to fuel nationwide.
To support high-volume buyers, Dangote Refinery also introduced a credit facility for those purchasing at least 500,000 litres. Eligible customers will be able to receive an additional 500,000 litres on credit for two weeks, backed by a bank guarantee.
The company added that it has invested in CNG booster stations across the country and deployed over 100 CNG-powered delivery trucks to improve supply to underserved and rural areas.
“This strategic programme is part of our broader commitment to eliminating logistics costs, enhancing energy efficiency, promoting sustainability, and supporting Nigeria’s economic development,” the statement read.
The refinery noted that the move would revive dormant filling stations, create jobs, stimulate small and medium-scale enterprises (SMEs), increase government revenue, and improve fuel access in remote communities.
“This pioneering effort marks a major milestone in our vision to revolutionise Nigeria’s energy sector. Dangote Refinery is dedicated to ensuring equitable access to affordable fuel for all Nigerians,” the company stated.
