Ahead of Saturday’s Governorship and House of Assembly elections, the Federal High Court of Nigeria said it would suspend proceedings for two working days — Friday, March 17 and Monday, March 20.
The Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, Justice John Tsoho, directed the court’s justices to preside over cases up until Thursday, March 16, before proceeding on break.
However, they are to resume on Tuesday, March 21, two days after the polls.
The break will also allow the judges to vote in the elections.
Justice Tsoho disclosed this in a March 15 circular titled ‘Break for the 2023 governorship and House of Assembly elections.’
It was addressed to all of the court’s judges.
