NYSC corp members

The Federal Government has commenced payment of ₦44,000 minimum wage arrears to former National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members.

This follows the recent adjustment of the corps members’ monthly allowance from ₦33,000 to ₦77,000. The arrears cover the difference for corps members who completed their service before the new allowance took effect earlier this year.

Many ex-corps members have confirmed receipt of the payment via social media platform X (formerly Twitter), expressing gratitude and relief.

The development has generated widespread commendation, with citizens describing the move as a welcome step toward restoring public confidence in government commitments.
