FG Declares June 6 and 9 Public Holidays for Eid-ul-Adha

The Federal Government has declared Friday, June 6, and Monday, June 9, 2025, as public holidays to mark the Eid-ul-Adha celebration. The announcement was made by Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, in a statement issued by the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Magdalene Ajani.
Tunji-Ojo congratulated Muslims in Nigeria and abroad, urging them to emulate the values of sacrifice and faith demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim (Peace be upon Him). He encouraged Nigerians to use the festive period to pray for peace and prosperity in the country.
The Minister also reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to reforms under President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, aimed at placing Nigeria back on the path of progress.
He called on all citizens to support the administration’s efforts in restoring Nigeria’s greatness, while wishing the Muslim community a joyous and peaceful Eid-ul-Adha
