The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has cautioned Nigerians against falling prey to fraudsters who exploit job seekers with false promises of employment into the Corps.

In a statement issued on Monday in Abuja, the Corps Public Education Officer, Assistant Corps Marshal, Olusegun Ogungbemide, said the FRSC had observed with concern the rising activities of scammers, some of whom impersonate staff of the Corps to extort unsuspecting applicants.

“These fraudulent individuals go as far as issuing fake call-up letters to training schools and the FRSC Academy in a desperate attempt to deceive innocent job seekers and defraud them of their hard-earned money,” the statement noted.

The Corps emphasised that its recruitment process is transparent, merit-based, and strictly communicated through national newspapers, television stations, and its official online platforms.

“At no time did the Corps mandate its personnel or representatives to demand money or any form of gratification from applicants in exchange for employment,” the statement added.

The FRSC urged Nigerians to remain vigilant and report perpetrators to the nearest FRSC Command, law enforcement agencies, or through the Corps’ verified communication platforms.

Reaffirming its commitment to integrity, fairness, and transparency in all recruitment exercises, the Corps advised applicants to verify information only from official FRSC sources, including its website and verified social media pages.

The Corps assured the public of its determination to protect Nigerians from fraudulent schemes while upholding credibility in its operations.
