HON TUNDE OLADUNJOYE: GOV ABIODUN, APC, KALEJAYE MOURN SPOKESPERSON’S DEATH

Nigerians particularly Indigenes and residents of Ogun state are still mourning the tragic, unprecedented passing of the Ogun spokesperson of All Progressives Congress (APC) Tunde Oladunjoye.

Oladunjoye, who hailed from Ijebu-Itele in Ijebu East LGA, passed away in the early hours of Friday at a UK hospital from an undisclosed ailment.

Before his role as the party’s spokesman, Oladunjoye served as chairman of Ijebu east LGA.

Reacting to the death of the APC spokesperson in a statement on Friday in Abeokuta, Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun described Oladunjoye as a stabilizing force in both Ogun APC and government circles.

Abiodun therefore said the death of Oladunjoye, was a terrible loss to the state and the party.

The Governor said he received news of Oladunjoye’s passing with disbelief and profound shock, expressing sorrow that the dedicated and dynamic politician died in the prime of his life and career.

He described Oladunjoye as forthright, grounded, and a consummate politician who firmly stood by any cause he believed in.

“News of the death of our gallant, cerebral, and diligent spokesman and consultant, Tunde Oladunjoye, is devastating.

“This is tragic and difficult to comprehend. One death too many, yet we surrender to the sovereignty of Almighty God who has called him home.

“As a party loyalist and aide, Oladunjoye gave his all to defend our policies, programmes, and the image of our government.

“He was an effective and accomplished spokesman whose brilliance and dedication were never in doubt.

“He was courageous, and arguably the finest spokesman Ogun APC has produced. His contributions to our administration’s achievements were significant.

“His doggedness, tenacity, and loyalty made him a pillar in building the Ogun APC brand. He was honest, grounded, and unwavering.

“Tunde Oladunjoye was a good man and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

“I extend my heartfelt condolences to his immediate family, the Ogun APC, and his many friends.

“Eternal rest grant him, O Lord,” the governor said.

He was until his death Consultant on Media to Governor Abiodun.

OGUN APC MOURNS SPOKESPERSON

In the meantime, Ogun State Chairman of the All Progressive Congress, Chief Yemi Sanusi, has described the death of the Publicity Secretary of the party, Oladunjoye, as shocking and such that has brought untold grief for party members in the state.

Sanusi said this in a statement sent to journalists on Saturday.

The chairman described the former party spokesman as a very reliable, dependable ally and great image maker who was always ready to stretch himself beyond convenience to get things done for the ruling party.

Sanusi said, “I can recall that our paths crossed in 2018 when our party leadership appointed him, Mr Ayo Olubori and my humble self as Caretaker Committee for Ogun APC.  Ever since then, I have known Tunde to be an irredentist, pragmatic and loyal party man who is ready to stretch himself beyond the convenience threshold to achieve the party’s goal.

“Tunde Oladunjoye, as the image maker of our party, would not tolerate any stain on the image of the party and would promptly deploy his vibrant pen to set the records straight.

“He fought for the party and any cause he so much believed in, but unfortunately, he couldn’t defeat death. No doubt he fought death to the end. His death is a great loss to APC, his family and Ogun State at large.

“I pray that Almighty Allah grants him Aljanah Fridaus, blesses and prospers the family that he left behind and also fortifies our party leaderships and followers from untimely death.”

 

KALEJAYE EULOGIZES OLADUNJOYE

Also reacting to the passing of the former chairman of Ijebu east LGA and media juggernaut, Hon Tunde Oladunjoye, The Chairman of Eagle 102. 5 FM, Ilese-Ijebu, Asiwaju Kunle Kalejaye, SAN, on Saturday described the death as shocking, devasting and untimely.

How can I speak about Comrade Oladunjoye in the past tense? He was a selfless man; a man who will support anything he believes into the hilt and a very dependable friend to have.” Kalejaye said during an interview on Saturday with Eagle FM reporters, in Ilese.

It would be recalled before the tragic passing of Oladunjoye, the Senior advocate of Nigeria, Kalejaye has always lauded the late Ogun APC spokesperson for his immense contribution to the establishment and license of Eagle 102.5 FM.
“When some powers that be, wrote a security report against me, it was he (Oladunjoye) that went to the Minister of Information as at the time, Lai Mohammed, on my behalf and initiated dialogue processes. He stood with us when other politicians played politricked us. He never wanted favors in retrun even when our reports as a media house never favored him, he gave us that the respect of our core duties as a media organization.

“I just referenced him yesterday when I was giving the anniversary interview on the establishment of Eagle FM and the role he played. He is a friend of the station. He will be greatly missed. Kalejaye stated.
