A seven-person Panel of Inquiry, led by the Deputy Inspector-General of Police in charge of the Force Criminal Investigation Department in Abuja, Abiodun Alabi, has been established by the acting Inspector-General of Police, Olukayode Egbetokun, with a mandate to conduct a thorough and unbiased investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of a police cadet, Sulaiman Jika, at the Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil, Kano State.
While expressing his sincere condolences and sympathy to Jika’s family, friends, and the academy community and assuring them that he was profoundly sympathetic to their pains and loss, Egbetokun also ordered the panel to provide his office with a detailed report outlining its findings and recommendations within four days.
He also promised that the Force would take the necessary steps to ensure that justice is served in the case.
