The Executive Chairman of Ijebu North-East Local Government, Hon. Folusho Badejo, has received a wave of commendation from council members and stakeholders following the presentation of his administration’s infrastructural achievements during the local government’s council meeting.
The meeting which took place on Friday 4, 2025, at the Ijebu North-East Council Secretariat, served as a platform for both accountability and collaboration, as council members reaffirmed their support for the Chairman’s development agenda while calling for strategic planning that ensures no ward or community is left behind.
In his address, Hon. Badejo outlined various completed projects aimed at improving the welfare of residents and boosting development across the area.
Among the highlighted interventions were the successful installation of solar-powered streetlights in key communities, which have enhanced nighttime security and reduced the burden of power outages.
The Chairman also announced the provision of both solar-powered and motorized boreholes to improve access to clean water, especially in underserved areas.
Additionally, he pointed to the construction and rehabilitation of several roads within the local government, describing them as vital links for transportation, commerce, and rural accessibility. These, he said, were part of his administration’s commitment to grassroots development and inclusive governance.
Hon. Badejo further noted internal improvements at the council secretariat, particularly the renovation of selected executive offices. According to him, this initiative is aimed at creating a more conducive and efficient working environment for staff and visitors, thereby enhancing administrative performance and service delivery to the public.
While expressing satisfaction with the progress made so far, several council members urged the Chairman to extend similar development efforts to communities that have yet to feel the impact of his administration.
Concerns raised included the need for more road construction and regular maintenance, the equitable distribution of water projects, and attention to inner-town facilities. Stakeholders at the meeting acknowledged the ongoing efforts but emphasized that more needs to be done to achieve balanced development across the local government.
As the administration which its second term began after securing victory in the November 16, 2024, LG polls, continues its tenure, expectations remain high among residents who are hopeful for sustained growth and inclusive progress.
