LASG restates commitment to waterway safety

The Lagos State Government has reiterated its commitment to improving the public inland waterways transit system in the state.
This was stated by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Waterfront Infrastructure Development, Mrs Olayinka Patunola-Ajayi, while welcoming members of the Alumni Association of the Nigerian Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, Lagos State, led by the Chairman, Ms Omolara Balogun, in her office.
According to a statement issued by the state government, Patunola-Ajayi said the state government, through the ministry, would continue to effectively monitor the state-owned terminal/jetties to ensure the safety of lives and properties of the citizens as well as improve all waterfront infrastructures to make the facilities the best in the world.
On her part, the Chairman, AANI, Balogun, said the visit was to felicitate Patunola-Ajayi, who is one of their members, on her well-deserved appointment as permanent secretary.
She pledged the member’s support for the Lagos State Government on the provision of world-class waterfront infrastructure in the state to complement the multi-modal transportation system of the Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu administration.
