The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has raised concern over the low number of candidates reprinting their notification slips for the upcoming mop-up Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
JAMB spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, in a statement on Friday, said only 12,442 out of the 98,232 scheduled candidates had reprinted their slips as of that morning. This represents just 12.6 percent participation.
“This is a rare opportunity for candidates who missed the main examination. We urge them to print their slips immediately,” the statement read.
The Board stressed that failure to reprint the slips could lead to candidates missing the chance to sit the exam.
“We strongly encourage all affected candidates to act now. This opportunity may not come again,” JAMB warned.
The Board assured the public that it had made adequate arrangements for a smooth process. “We have deployed both human and material resources to ensure every registered candidate can participate,” it said.
JAMB added that it is closely monitoring the printing process to track how many candidates are responding. The mop-up exam is designed to accommodate candidates who missed the main UTME earlier in the year.
The Board’s message to candidates is clear: print your slip now or risk missing the exam.
