The Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, today, approved a half-day holiday for workers in the employ of the state on Friday, March 17, 2023 ahead of Saturday’s elections.

A circular authorized by the Secretary to the state government, Olubanwo Adeosun, said the action became imperative to enable the civil and public servants in the state, who might wish to travel, to vote in the Saturday, March 18 governorship and House of Assembly elections, to do so.

A statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Taiwo Adisa, indicated that workers were expected to close at 12PM, with only those handling essential duties expected to remain at their duty posts.
