What do you get when Fuji, Amapiano, pop-rap, and indigenous Igbo rhythms all drop in one week? A reminder that Afrobeats is not just a genre it’s a living, shape-shifting force, constantly reinventing itself while pulling from deep cultural roots.

This week, some of Afrobeats’ biggest names and rising stars have served a fresh buffet of sounds each release a piece of the larger puzzle that keeps the global spotlight firmly on Nigeria’s music scene.

Adekunle Gold leads the pack with *Bobo*, featuring Lojay and Shoday. Leaning into Fuji music, the track transforms into a party starter, offering a contemporary spin on a genre woven into Nigeria’s cultural fabric.

Rema, never one to move in predictable patterns, drops a surprise single *Fun*. With playful pop-rap flows, he insists on living free while subtly swatting away lingering chatter about borrowing ideas from Omah Lay.

Shallipopi, still basking in the glow of his mega-hit *Laho*, extends his streak with *Na So*. Powered by an amapiano groove and his trademark swagger, the track keeps his reputation as the people’s hitmaker intact.

And then there’s Fola—the breakout star of 2025. With a string of high-quality singles already to his name, he steps boldly into album territory with *Carthasis*. The 11-track debut features Afrobeats heavyweights Kizz Daniel, Young Jonn, Victony, and Gabzy, a lineup that confirms his fast-rising status.

Tay Iwar takes a different path with *Wonderful*, his genre-bending EP that creatively reimagines Zule Zoo’s early-2000s classic *Necessary*. The project showcases his knack for retooling nostalgia into something strikingly new.

Other highlights include Pheelz’s dance-ready *Jamming*, TI Blaze’s flashy *Porsche*, Phyno’s gospel-tinged *This Moment* featuring Cheque, Salle’s emotionally charged *If You Leave* with Ayo Maff, and Ugoccie’s Igbo-rooted anthem *Achalugo*.

Tay Iwar’s genuius shines on his genre-bending record ‘Wonderful’ where he samples the classic ‘Necessary’ by the famous duo Zule Zoo behind the Takuraku beat with which they impacted the mainstream in the mid 2000s.

Pheelz – Jamming

The super talented Pheelz is back with a party-starting jam that embraces uptempo street music elements to beckon listeners onto the dancefloor.

TI Blaze – Porsche

Yoruba talking drum shapes this mid-tempo song where TI Blaze flaunts the fast cars and good life that’s the everyday life of a star.
