The New Nigeria People’s Party, NNPP, caucus in the House of Representatives on Thursday, January 2025, lost one of its members, Yusuf Galambi, to the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Galambi’s defection was contained in a letter transmitted to the leadership of the House and read on the floor during Thursday’s plenary by Speaker Tajudeen Abbas.

The lawmaker represents the Gwaram federal constituency of Jigawa State.

Justifying his defection, Galambi said his decision to join the APC followed a directive from his constituency.

He also attributed the development to NNPP’s leadership crisis.

“This is not a personal decision but a directive from the constituency I represent,” he said.
