The National Working Committee of the New Nigeria People’s Party has announced the suspension of two of its members.
The members are Boniface Aniebonam, a founding member of the party, and Agbo Major, its National Publicity Secretary.
In a statement signed by the party’s acting National Chairman, Mallam Abba Kawu Alli, the party said the suspension was with immediate effect pending the outcome of investigations by the disciplinary committee of the party.
Alli said, “You will all recall that recent events regarding the repositioning of our party and the discipline or otherwise of some of our members led to the expulsion of two members of the party, the suspension of about seven former state chairmen of our party, and the dissolution of the executive committees of nine state chapters of the party.”
Alli also urged the press to properly address the suspended members as ‘suspended’ chairmen or members of the party.
