OGUN HEALTH COLLEGE GRADUATES 422, PROVOST URGES INTEGRITY AND EMPATHY

The Provost of De Potter College of Health Technology, Dr Oluwaseyi Adeware, the overall best graduating student for 2023/2024 academic session, Ruth Adesida and other members of staff of the college during the combined graduation of the institution.
De Potter College of Health Technology in Oru-Ijebu, Ogun State, on Friday held a combined graduation ceremony for 422 students of the 2023/2024 and 2024/2025 academic sessions. The Provost, Dr. Oluwaseyi Adeware, called on the graduands to uphold integrity, empathy, and professionalism as they embark on careers in the health sector.
Ruth Adesida, with a CGPA of 3.99, emerged as the overall best graduating student for 2023/2024, while Abigail Odulana, scoring 3.95, topped the 2024/2025 session. In his address, Adeware encouraged the graduates to be ambassadors of the college, maintaining the ethics and standards instilled during their training.
He noted the institution’s transformation, including new lecture halls, laboratories, staff quarters, expanded hostels, a digitised library, and an ICT Centre driving e-learning and online academic services. Sustainability efforts such as solar energy installations, improved waste management, and a green campus initiative were also highlighted.
Adeware disclosed that the college achieved a 100 percent pass rate in national qualifying examinations across all accredited programmes. He commended staff, students, the governing board, and the host community for their support in the college’s growth.
Speaking on behalf of the graduands, Adesida thanked lecturers, management, and parents, urging her peers to exemplify service, empathy, and excellence in their professional journeys.
Dignitaries at the event included the Chairman of Ijebu North Local Government, Bolaji Odusanya; the Gbegande of Ososa, Oba Adetoye Abdulmojeed Alatise; and the Oloru of Oru, Oba Olusegun Osinbajo. De Potter College, a private monotechnic, trains middle-level health personnel for primary and secondary healthcare, contributing significantly to Nigeria’s healthcare workforce.
