No fewer than 15 top leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from Zamfara State have officially defected to the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC).

The defectors were presented to the Minister of State for Defence, Dr. Bello Mohammed Matawalle, in Abuja by Zamfara APC Chairman Hon. Tukur Umar Danfulani, Senator Tijjani Yahaya, and Hon. Lawal M. Liman.

Minister Matawalle warmly welcomed the new members, assuring them of equal treatment and opportunities within the APC. He described their defection as a bold and timely decision, noting the party’s widespread popularity and acceptance both in Zamfara and across Nigeria.

He further praised the state party leadership for its effective consultation and mobilization efforts throughout Zamfara.

“The APC is more acceptable and popular in every nook and cranny of the state,” the minister said.

“APC will continue to grow stronger and more united with the current strategies and welfare initiatives being delivered to the people of Zamfara,” Matawalle added.
