Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has suffered an injury to the adductor longus muscle in his leg, the club confirmed.
The Belgian shot-stopper was named in Real Madrid’s squad that played a goalless draw at Rayo Vallecano yesterday.
According to Fabrizio Romano’s X post today, “Thibaut Courtois suffered injury to the adductor longus muscle in his leg. Real Madrid staff will assess him during the break, as Courtois will miss the upcoming games with Belgium.”
Courtois will miss Belgium’s upcoming fixtures as a precaution, with Real Madrid’s medical team set to monitor his recovery closely.
The 33-year-old’s latest setback comes as a blow to both Real Madrid and the Belgium national team, as he continues his efforts to regain full fitness after missing most of the previous season.
The Los Blancos are expected to provide an update on his condition once further tests are completed.
