The Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has thanked Lagosians for donating over 300 units of blood, which was used to treat victims of the collision between a train and a bus, which happened last Thursday.

According to the governor, the blood donation was swift and was instrumental in saving the lives of those rescued from the crash.

In a terse statement on his official facebook page, Sanwo-Olu revealed that some of the victims of the accident had since been discharged from various hospitals in the state.

The governor urged Lagosians not to relent in praying for the remaining victims who were still receiving treatment in hospitals across the state.

The train accident occurred on Thursday leaving six people dead out of the 102 people involved.

The driver of the bus has since been placed in the custody of authorities while investigation into the cause of the crash continues.
