Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, has strongly denied allegations linking him to the leadership crisis rocking the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS).
In a statement shared via his Instagram handle on Friday, Tinubu described the accusations made by Atiku Isah, who claims to be the NANS president, as false and defamatory. “Wow… how can someone lie with so much confidence? An attempt to defame my character. May God be with you, Comrade Atiku Isah,” he wrote.
He clarified that he has never met or held any meeting with Isah, either in Lagos or elsewhere, nor has he visited any location with thugs, as alleged.
The denial follows a press conference held by Isah on Wednesday, where he accused Seyi Tinubu and Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, of offering him ₦100 million to promote President Tinubu’s image, a claim he said he rejected due to the administration’s “underperformance”.
Isah further alleged he was abducted, stripped, and beaten on April 15 and later forced to make a press statement under duress. He also claimed his life was threatened and said efforts were being made to cover up the ordeal using political influence.
Despite the alleged threats, Isah maintained that he was inaugurated as NANS president and pledged to expose what he described as undue political interference in student affairs.
