In a surprising political twist, a close aide to Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, Abdulazeez Abubakar Kaka has reportedly called for the immediate removal of four high-profile government figures: Bayo Onanuga, Sunday Dare, Daniel Bwala, and the Minister of Information.
In a tweet that sent shockwaves across political and media circles, Kaka accused Bayo Onanuga, Sunday Dare, Daniel Bwala, and Minister of Information Mohammed Idris Malagi of gross incompetence, mismanagement of public narratives, and sabotaging the President’s image through poor communication strategy.
“A reshuffle of our Media and Communications Team will go a long way at this point in our Administration. The present strategy isn’t working, they are not communicating Baba’s policies and gains effectively,” Kaka wrote.

The aide didn’t mince words, warning that the administration’s communication failures is at its peak, given the opposition free rein to distort facts while leaving the government’s successes buried under “confusion, disunity, and personal ego battles.”
Officials Under Fire
Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, has been widely criticised for combative and sometimes abrasive public statements that have fueled avoidable controversies.
Sunday Dare, Special Adviser on Media and Public Communications, is accused of being virtually invisible and ineffective in promoting the administration’s achievements.
Daniel Bwala, Special Adviser on Policy Communication, is facing growing distrust among party loyalists, who question his sudden shift from the opposition PDP and doubt his loyalty.
Minister of Information Mohammed Idris Malagi is accused of failing to set a strong, unified national narrative, leaving a communication vacuum at the federal level.
Kaka’s blistering statement is being interpreted by insiders as a direct warning shot from within the President’s inner circle.
Meanwhile, Political analysts say this could be the opening move in a serious shake-up of the presidency’s media apparatus, especially with the 2027 election already looming on the horizon.
Recall late last year, precisely 7th September 2024, the Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, has stepped down from his role with immediate effect.
While Ajuri cited health reasons, sources within the Presidency told newsmen that Ngelale was not tactful in carrying out some of his assignments, even though he seemed to have made amends.
“An example was when he had the public spat with Bayo Onanuga. Some of us wondered why such should be. Onanuga has been an old ally of the President. A lot may have happened that are not in the public purview, but I wish the young man success in his future endeavours. He is a brilliant chap,” the source said.
Observers note that if Seyi Tinubu’s camp is openly calling for heads to roll, it could mean the First Family is losing patience with a team seen as fumbling the President’s political message at a critical time.
