President Bola Tinubu has assured Nigerians that the most difficult days are now behind them and that the country is moving toward renewed hope and prosperity.
In his Eid-el-Kabir message on Sunday, the president urged citizens to embrace the values of sacrifice, resilience, and compassion exemplified by the festival, noting that such virtues are vital for national development.
“While this festival is marked with joy and celebration, its true significance lies deeper: Eid calls us to reflect on its core values of sacrifice, devotion, and selflessness,” Tinubu said.
He commended Nigerians for their patience and perseverance during the ongoing economic reforms, adding that the measures are beginning to yield results. “Our reforms are gaining traction, with key economic indicators now moving in a positive direction. Soon, all will feel the benefits,” he said.
Acknowledging recent tragedies such as the Mokwa flood in Niger State, the president called for national solidarity, prayers for the affected, and support for the government’s relief efforts.
He also urged continued prayers for Nigeria’s security personnel and leaders, stressing the importance of unity and generosity across all divides.
“As we celebrate today, remember that Eid-el-Kabir enjoins love, compassion, and generosity for all, regardless of faith or background. Let us care for one another’s well-being during this season and always,” he added.
