The Presidency has reiterated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s unwavering commitment to ending terrorism and insecurity across Nigeria, emphasizing his determination to promote peace, unity, and national cohesion.

The Special Adviser to the President on Policy Communication, Sunday Dare, made this known in a post shared on X today, lauding President Tinubu’s focus on peacebuilding, religious harmony, and inclusive governance.

According to Dare, Nigeria is fortunate to have a leader with the courage, experience, and resolve to confront terrorism and restore lasting security.

He wrote:
“Nigeria is now blessed with a President who is committed to ending the scourge of terror and insecurity one who embodies the true Nigerian story of peaceful faith relations.
“President Bola Tinubu remains steadfast in pursuing partnerships that promote religious tolerance, strengthen economic ties, and build a resilient, united nation.”

Dare further emphasized that Nigeria’s diversity should be seen as a source of strength rather than division, noting that the shared struggles and hopes of Nigerians across religious lines bind the country together.

He added:
“While our faiths may differ, our destinies do not. Nigeria is not a land of persecution; it is a land of opportunity a nation of shared grief and shared hope. Christians and Muslims have suffered together; they will rebuild together and, by God’s grace, continue to rise together.”

Dare’s comments come ahead of a highly anticipated meeting between President Tinubu and his United States counterpart, Donald Trump, over allegations of a “Christian genocide” in Nigeria.

Daniel Bwala, also a Special Adviser to the President on Policy Communication, had earlier announced the planned meeting in a post on X, explaining that discussions would focus on enhancing counterterrorism collaboration and addressing misconceptions about the nature of violent attacks in the country.

The meeting follows Trump’s recent threat to suspend aid and consider military intervention against Nigeria over alleged persecution of Christians a claim the Nigerian government has firmly rejected as false and misleading.

The controversy began after U.S. lawmaker Riley Moore alleged “systematic persecution and slaughter of Christians” in Nigeria, describing the country as the world’s deadliest place for followers of the faith  an assertion the Nigerian government has strongly refuted.
