President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated three Nigerian students for emerging as world champions at the 2025 TeenEagle Global Finals held in London, United Kingdom.

In a statement issued on Wednesday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu described the students as “ shining examples of Nigeria’s future promise,” applauding their exceptional performance on the global stage.

The champions—Nafisa Abdullahi Aminu (17), Rukayya Muhammad Fema (15), and Hadiza Kashim Kalli—represented Nigeria at the prestigious international competition, outperforming thousands of participants from 69 countries.

Nafisa was awarded Overall Best in English Language Skills, Rukayya emerged Overall Best in Debate, while Hadiza clinched the Outstanding Talent Award (Gold Medal).

“President Tinubu commends these exceptional young Nigerians for their remarkable feat and affirms that the nation’s future is much brighter with many of its youth as repositories of excellence,” the statement read.

The President also praised their schools and educators, stating that the students’ victories are a testament to the strength and potential of Nigeria’s education system in nurturing some of the world’s brightest minds.

He noted that the Federal Government is investing significantly in the education sector and has taken steps to eliminate financial barriers for underprivileged students through initiatives like the Nigerian Education Loan Fund.

Tinubu encouraged the three students to remain focused on their academic pursuits and wished them continued success in their future endeavours.

The students, all from Nigerian Tulip International College, Yobe State, had earlier been celebrated by the Yobe State Government, as well as prominent Nigerians including Professor Isa Ali Pantami, President of the Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria and former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy.

In a statement shared via Facebook, Prof. Pantami urged the Federal Government to honor the students with national recognition and material rewards, likening their achievement to those of Nigeria’s top sports teams such as the Super Falcons and D’Tigress.

“Let’s invite our daughter and the daughter of all Nigerians, along with her teacher, to the Presidency. What’s good for the goose is good for the gander,” Pantami wrote.
