In what’s shaping up to be one of the biggest transfer sagas of the summer, Chelsea’s pursuit of Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho has taken a dramatic turn, with top football insider Fabrizio Romano revealing that the deal is “very advanced” behind closed doors. The Blues, who have already made four solid signings this window—Jorrel Hato, Jamie Gittens, Joao Pedro and Liam Delap—are not slowing down, as they push to land Garnacho and Dutch sensation Xavi Simons before the transfer window slams shut.

Chelsea’s attacking department is undergoing a serious overhaul, with reports suggesting the club wants to have eight or nine sharp attacking options to rotate next season. Garnacho, a player Chelsea have admired since January, remains firmly on their radar. The 21-year-old Argentine has been consistently linked with a move to Stamford Bridge, and now, it appears the London giants have made significant progress.

According to trusted sources, Chelsea have already agreed personal terms with Garnacho, and the deal is said to be fully sorted on the player’s side. The winger is reportedly keen on joining Chelsea and has made it clear that Stamford Bridge is his preferred destination. However, the move is unlikely to be finalised until one of Chelsea’s current forwards—either Christopher Nkunku or Nicolas Jackson—is sold to make room in the squad.

Romano, speaking on his YouTube channel, gave fans the inside scoop: “Talks in the background between Chelsea and Man United over Garnacho are well underway,” he said. “Chelsea are working on it and have an agreement with the player. I know in the media it’s not present, but trust me, behind the scenes it’s very advanced & active!”

Despite the progress on the player’s side, the two clubs are still locked in negotiations over the transfer fee. Manchester United are reportedly holding out for €50 million, while Chelsea are only willing to pay around €30 million. Sources close to the deal say Chelsea are standing firm on their valuation and are not ready to meet United’s asking price without further negotiation.
With both clubs apart on the financials, this deal could drag on until the final days of the transfer window. But one thing is clear—Chelsea are serious about Garnacho, and if Romano’s words are anything to go by, fans should brace themselves for a potential blockbuster signing before the window closes.
